Technology and farming systems
Low-volume cages, materials suited to sediment-laden freshwater, and a management platform that records every data point with the person responsible.
The farming unit
- Low-volume cage
- Pacu literature uses cages of up to 5 m³ (typically 2 × 2 × 1 m). The final size is set by an engineer based on the hydrodynamic study.
- Net and mesh
- Fine mesh in the nursery stage and wider mesh for grow-out, with recorded periodic inspections.
- Flotation and mooring
- Floats, anchors and mooring lines sized for the current and the water-level variation at the site.
- Walkways and boat
- Safe access for feeding, sampling and harvesting every day.
The management platform
- Water quality with instrument, person responsible and unit for every reading; alerts by species.
- Batches with stocking, transfers, splits and merges, with parent/child traceability.
- Feeding with the feed lot recorded and stock that cannot go negative.
- Biometrics and growth; FCR, survival and cost per kg are calculated, never entered by hand.
- Fish health with withdrawal periods that block harvest.
- Purchases, sales, delivery notes, collections and complaints.
There are no installed sensors or automatic monitoring: every reading is entered by a person using their instrument.
