For the river, we evaluate only species native to the Paraguay–Paraná basin. None is in production: they are species under evaluation.

What we will not farm in the river

Exotic species (such as tilapia) and hybrids stay out of the river: Law 3.556/08 on Fisheries and Aquaculture, art. 31, prohibits farming exotic species in natural watercourses. They could only be evaluated in a confined land-based facility, with its own permit.
